I’ve been lucky enough to work with the top, top talent in beauty during my tenure at Teen Vogue… this story with Eugene Souleiman has been one of my favorites. offbeat, ladylike, one of a kind, and totally Teen Vogue

Lovebirds Play to Old Stereotypes by Falling in Love
The Fluffington Post has received numerous reports that two adorable lovebirds have caved to cultural typecasting by falling in love with each other. While their families are overjoyed, progressive groups are concerned about the image it projects.
“We’ve come so far in the fight to overcome stereotypes like this,” says Wynonna Jacobs, a bird rights activist. “These birds have set the movement back 5, if not 10 years.”

The message this photo is trying to spread is appalling. Women turned on each other because they think they can’t fit into the dress size society want them to fit into. Sometimes, I am not sure what to do, I hate going shopping because things don’t fit me right. Plus size clothing is too big and the biggest sizes in the non plus size section fit but are tight. -.- I think I was watching bride wars and there was a line in the movie that boggled my mind. It went something like, you don’t modify Vera Wang to fit you but that you modify yourself to fit Vera Wang… Why?
I love this blog and hope everyone is as addicted to this type of positivity as I am and are feeling excellent in their own skin !
[Edit: I love the message the submitter is saying, and I love hearing people speak out about bullshit photos like this but because I do not want people ending up removing the comment and just using the picture in a bodyshaming way I’ve replaced it with a different version, hope that is alright!]
